Elizabeth Zimmerman's Adult Surprise Jacket

Let’s have fun making E. Zimmerman’s Adult Surprise Jacket
It is easy.
It is fun….and, it knits up surprisingly fast, too.

Class Fee: $50.00 plus supplies

Class Details: 4 3-hour sessions. Also an optional class to help choose yarns and needles.

Supplies:

Two circular knitting needles of the same size that are the size you intend to use – one of these must be over 40 inches.  The other can be whatever length you have on hand.

Three stitch markers (you may want to use an additional two markers that can be placed on a single stitch and removed as necessary, such as the markers shaped like a safety pin, or with a split in the marker.

Crochet hook – the size should correspond with your knitting needles – I can help you determine this in class as you won’t need this until toward the end.

Buttons, should you choose to use them.  If not, your jacket will not self destruct, but will be a lovely cardigan.

Tapestry needle – for sewing the shoulder seam.

Bring in your favorite fitting sweater…we will use this to take measurements.

YARN…  (Approximately 1,500 – 2,000 yards)Now, this is the fun part!  Use as many colors as your heart desires.  Have fun with this – throw in something sparkly if you want, or something funky… This jacket may be made with lace weight, chunky weight, and anything in between.  You will need to use about the same weight yarns throughout, except…… when you don’t want to.  The main thing is to use mostly the same weight and then throw in some of the other yarn.
